Last night, my 4-year-old son uttered the most wonderful three words I’ve ever heard: “Mommy was right.”

No FB updates in L&D

Rarely do I make decisions about how I will give birth or what I will do in the hospital this early in pregnancy. After going through the experience twice now, I know that things can change in an instant, and there is always a surprise or two. But I have vowed to do, or rather not do, one thing: I will not update my Facebook status while I am in labor or enjoying those first few moments in the hospital with my new baby.

For my boys, a ban on bad TV

My boys love TV. Playhouse Disney, Nickelodeon … they’d sit in front the tube all day if I let them. They sing and dance and laugh along without a care in the world, and with some of the shows I think they might even be learning a thing or two. But there are some shows I can’t stand to let my boys watch, not because they are inappropriate for kids or have a bad message, but because they are just plain annoying.
